LR Licence Short Overview

• Minimum age – 18 years
• Must have held a Class C (Car) Licence for at least 12 months (including “P” Plates)
• Must supply own LR vehicle.
• Overseas Licence evidence MUST be provided if SA Licence has been held for less than 12 months.

Detailed Truck Driving Course Information

Pre-Requisites

• Minimum age – 18 years

Training and Vehicle on Road Test (VORT)

• VORT lessons – We may suggest a minimum of 3 hours training before undertaking the Vehicle On Road Test.
• The test could be done after the completion of the training either on the same day or thereafter.
• Skills required for a VORT are: –
  • 85% System of vehicle control
  • 100% Road law
  • Kerb Stop
  • Move Off
  • Reversing
  • Reverse parallel parking
  • U-turn

Logbook Format Competency Based Training & Assessments (CBT&A)

• Training will depend on the Government standard as per the Logbook format.
• The average time taken for a logbook course is 9 hours; however, this may vary depending on the ability, driving skill of the student.

How to Book?

• Please contact JD’s Truck Training Centre on 0484 11 22 22 7:00am – 7:00pm Monday to Sunday and we will arrange dates and times to suit your needs.

Payment Methods

• When making a booking, we require a deposit of $500 to secure the date.
• Payment is due on the day of the training. Payment can be made by cash or credit/debit card or bank account transfer.
• Please note JD’s Truck Training Centre accepts Visa and Mastercard only. There is a 2.0% surcharge on all card transactions.

Cancellation Policy

• Any cancellations or rescheduling must be made within a minimum of 7 business days prior to the course commencement date.
• If you choose to cancel your course, there will be a $ 250.00 administration fee payable.
• Any cancellations made within less than 7 business days notice will incur either the loss of the deposit or a $500.00 per day cancellation fee to cover administration costs and instructor’s fee, unless a medical certificate or similar is provided.

What to Bring?

• Current South Australian Driver’s licence.
• Appropriate footwear must be worn during training e.g. work boots, sandshoes, etc. No open footwear is allowed. Safety Gloves are optional when conducting vehicle checks.
• Student must provide own vehicle. Vehicle must be registered, locally plated (NO Federal Plates), road worthy & insured.
• The applicant will be required to be present at least 15 minutes before the commencement of each lesson.
